I had a play too.
Palms, I like the one with texture a little better, both are great though, and a lovely BG you have added.
Lyle, interesting effect.
Joe, a little too much magenta on my screen otherwise very nice.
OB, whatever you threw, you found the right amount, like that one a lot
Dan, very nice, we went almost for the same crop :-)

that's it perfect now ! I dont think it is a age thing just a bit of photoart blindness i get it as well and i am only 21 ( well in my dreams)

Good find, Palms - and some great smudging.

I did kinda funky one with DAPainter and CS4 and another with Painter Essentials and CS4.

Palms, I really like that one, whatever you tried, it definitely worked :-)
only thing I think would look even better is applying a little shadow to add some depth to the face, maybe?
