Thanks for the encouragement Palms1. I just smudged my first dog, the eyes are a bit funny but I see what you mean about the time just flying...it's strangely engaging.

some people struggle with hair others eyes but just keep practising, more things click into place that way

Base using Essentials 4 - detailed watercolour using brush real oils smudge blender - then into Photoshop playing about with various levels, saturation and contrasts & film grain on the second one.

i dragged the new background onto the image and then masked using a soft brush ( the same can be done in psp but not sure of the way to tell you )
