Re: Bearded gent

Rather than start a new post I'll add this one, (found at Stockvault), here, as it's the same sort of style.

Re: Bearded gent

Peter, I love how your style is progressing.. they look great!

Palms, I think the expression is 'That's Tight!" meaning Excellent!

Lyle the B/Ws remind me of wood block carvings.. outstanding work! I think I prefer the colored toothless guy... looks pretty gnarly!

Alexmeta, Beautifully colored sketch!

Sylvia, WOW, I really like the second one.. it could be on display with the best of them!

Craig, I like the way the face seems to jump out from the background.. nice!

I did a Non-repeatable method with a forgotten work-flow... cause I can't remember what all I did!

Re: Bearded gent

Enjoying the many nice renditions, versions.
I isolated the photo by light-dark sections and used three different paint effects. The whites were smeared the most and it exemplified the grays I think.

Re: Bearded gent

Thank you for the comments Craig
That texture is a combo of Craquelure, Grain, canvas, and fake_skin with a bit of Redfield++ Bas relief thrown in with black removed and some extreme curves adjustments upon a few 50% gray softlight layers with different blend modes and opacity lowered..
(In other words, I just threw a lot of stuff at it till something stuck! then blended it to the picture)
