Re: Creative Interpretations: Smiling bright Lots of rich texture. I have no idea, except at the end used paintEngine. The second is a duotone. Had a little trouble with interlacing with the halftones, so lost some clarity correcting for it. Last edited by MiningArt; 07-18-2009 at 08:27 PM. Reason: addition

Re: Creative Interpretations: Smiling bright amica, good picture and i love that style of sketch. very nice, lyle. for some reason i want to call that style 'west coast'. not sure why, but there ya go alex, good texture. captured all the good points of the image. nicely done miningart, a little rough on that first one, but still, nice. and that grainy 2nd one is interesting, too. very nice, palms beautiful smudge, grant i like that one, too, gerry. where'd the frame come from?

Re: Creative Interpretations: Smiling bright i had a go at this. i made a new filter in filter forge. it's sort of a paint daub or pointilism or impressionist, or just junk... not real sure both of these are from the same filter.

Re: Creative Interpretations: Smiling bright hehe, ok, i can do these all night. i dont do this too often, but i took the output from one filter and fed it back into another filter; both filter forge filters, one mine, one someone else's.

Re: Creative Interpretations: Smiling bright Thanks, Craig. The frame is one of my own. I make all my frames from scratch, or they were at one time. I have a collection of several "one side of a frame." The sides are all vertical and were started with the same colors. The thing that changes is what kind of layer styles I use. When I decide which one I want, I copy that side to my project. If the longest side is horizontal, I rotate the layer 90 degrees and scale it to fit the side of the picture and the thickness i want. Then I make a copy and rotate a side until I have a right angle. I miter the corner then merge the two layers. I make a copy of the resulting layer, rotate it 180 degrees and miter the remaining corners. I merge these two layers and add a few layer styles. From start to finish it takes about 5 minutes to do one.

Re: Creative Interpretations: Smiling bright This one was fun so I tried a couple things. first one is 2 actions on yop of eachothe and a bit of cloning to fix the right eye. Second was a minimalist version of the combo. Man I'm in trouble now that I know this site is here. Mario
