| | | MMM..interesting photo to work with. Almost got a chalk effect. Next time I'd like to smudge the image first or after to smooth to better effect. What do you think?
PSP8.01
Duped bottom layer twice.
Top layer - Mode/difference.
2nd Layer - Gaussian Blur 6.00
Merged top two layers - Mode normal
2nd layer - Flaming Pear/Chroma Solarize
Applied a lot of AIM/USM
Duped 2nd layer - Layer Mode/Screen
Merged all and desat 0-0

| | The action written by Mathias Vejerslev and Pierre Courtejoie used to create the basis for my interpretation is available here: http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/w...8k.7@.2cd1373c
After the action finished doing its thing, I:
* Duplicated the original Background
* Moved the duplicate to the top of the layer stack
* Applied Photoshop Find Edges to it
* Added a hide all layer mask
* Airbrushed with white to blend in a little edge detail
* Added another layer and painted black to cover a few blotchy areas
* Merge all visible layers onto a new layer
* Used blur tool to soften a couple of edges

| | | Needed to do something a bit different.
So here's what i did -- went into quick mask mode by pressing "Q", then with a soft watercolor brush, low opac, painted on those masks. Pressing "Q" again will create the mask. For the face, and the hair, to dispel all those shadows. I used a great no. of adjustments to finally bring out all those highlights -- lots of image-color balance, adj.levels, replace and selective colors. Then i used the filter-artistic neon glow 24,32, glow color off-white. That was a smart thing to do coz I got this ethereal look with a sepia tone. Perfect for adding colors back to the lady. Again back to quick mask mode, masked separately the face, hair, background, dress. Each time i used the image-adj color balance for different colors. Also used some amt. of smudging and blurring, and also a bit of usm. |

| | Many interesting works from this pic.
I Switched my mode to grayscale.
Adjusted levels.
Adjusted threshold.
Created mask layer and painted out what I did not want.
Merged visible.
Changed mode to tritone, left the first box black, added different shades of red to the other two and adjusted all three.
Unsharp mask.
The background is just a layer filled with a color selected from the image and a noise pattern added with an overlay blend.
Merge visible again and add a layer style>bevel.
This is fun stuff.

| | | Acrylic. Still my usual technique (Pixel Trash, Impressionist, and GIMP Bumpmap). Texture provided by a Script-fu called Clothify with adjusted opacity.

Just decided to add a silhouette too; used Potrace vector conversion technique to create this image (saved in PNG format using Inkscape and additionally compressed using Irfanview).
