I settled for a watercolour with a different approach. Levels to lighten slightly. Dupe bottom layer Twice L3 (Top) - Overlay Mode 80% L2 - GB 6.0 Merged all layers and duped layer again. PSP8.01 Art Media Effects/Brushstrokes/Watercolor Layer Blend at 46% Merged all. Applied mask, new bg, sandstone texture and frame.

jaykita - Your rendition has a very Pop Art feel about, the colours are very bright and vibrant, great job. My example shouldnt really belong here, well at least i dont think it should as it is more of an enhancement retouch than a creative rendition, however seeign as the image was used i have to post it nontheless, i hope you dont mind. Copied main image Smothed the skin and applied sligh makeup to the cheeks, eyes and lips. Colour burned then applied a hipass mask sharpen to the hair. Curve control on the RGB, Red and Blue and Green Levels adjustment Imported image into Auto FX Mystical Lighting to apply a light cast on the face and chest then ran a colour correction to the whole image. Provided link as the compression has undesired results. Diana

This is a great photo, Danny. I downloaded it a while back and finally got around to painting it, using Judy's watercolor technique...........well, mostly.

Looks like these folks were going for a Wyeth look here, but the model looks uncomfortable. Steve

Agree with you Steve, maybe a slight body turn to camera and an elbow bend. Don't like how the straight arm anchors into the ground. Nice effect BTW. Thought I'd give it a vertical crop. Cheers Dave

| Maybe this is not the only shot they took that day. Would be interesting to see other poses in same location. Thanks for your kind comments. Steve Quote:

Beautiful, Raniday. Ditto Steve and Duv. I used Lucis and Buzz, and some hue and sat adjustments. I ran a Ted Lacascio oil action, and made my own adjustments. Cathy

Beauty in Oil. Knew I had to use a lot of compression to get in under 100K. Figured I would take a little advantage of the artifacting (gives the oil more of a smushed stroke fill) for this one. For the curious, here was my original intent (nearly 500K). Last edited by lkroll; 12-18-2005 at 07:32 AM.

Gorgeous! Love that chunky style. I tried to do a combination of Deep Paint and Impressionist. Like yours way better though! Cheers Dave

You people do such lovely pait effects. My niche leans more to the commercial art look. As said above, this photo does have some flaws and if I had to use it in an ad or brochure, here's what I would do to make it a little more appealing. It's an old trick to recrop, frame the subject and blur the background, but the technique lends itself to this photo. Anything to draw the eye away from that locked elbow. <wink>. Also, this technique took about 3 minutes to complete. When time is money, that bears some consideration too.
