I settled for a watercolour with a different approach.

Levels to lighten slightly.
Dupe bottom layer Twice
L3 (Top) - Overlay Mode 80%
L2 - GB 6.0
Merged all layers and duped layer again.
PSP8.01 Art Media Effects/Brushstrokes/Watercolor
Layer Blend at 46%
Merged all.
Applied mask, new bg, sandstone texture and frame.

That would be great. We'll take all the PSP help we can get.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

jaykita - Your rendition has a very Pop Art feel about, the colours are very bright and vibrant, great job.

My example shouldnt really belong here, well at least i dont think it should as it is more of an enhancement retouch than a creative rendition, however seeign as the image was used i have to post it nontheless, i hope you dont mind.

Copied main image
Smothed the skin and applied sligh makeup to the cheeks, eyes and lips.
Colour burned then applied a hipass mask sharpen to the hair.
Curve control on the RGB, Red and Blue and Green
Levels adjustment
Imported image into Auto FX Mystical Lighting to apply a light cast on the face and chest then ran a colour correction to the whole image.

Provided link as the compression has undesired results.

This is a great photo, Danny. I downloaded it a while back and finally got around to painting it, using Judy's watercolor technique...........well, mostly.
