I've been playing with digital painting in PS. Unfortunately I'm stuck using a mouse and only working during my free time at work.

I normally don't mess with any of the Artistic Filters. But, since that is what is called for here I complied.

First, I blurred the image to reduce some of the noise on the original.
Overlayed a blue tint to the entire image.
Used the dry brush effect (for the first time, mind you).
Played with Render->Lighting Effects to bring a bit of emotion into the image.

Enjoyed playing with things I don't normally.

this is my attempt
selected the eyes
used my favorite dualtone action
then pasted the eyes back on

Carrie, a wonderful effort, the colours are perfect. There's no "time" limit imposed here so enjoy. We all like to see old threads re-emerge also.

Your version is very nice too. It is amazing all the different styles people come up with. Looks I will have to try this agin in painter now that I know how to use it better.
