Has this always been the way the attachments worked? I could have sworn that when I clicked on a thumbnail in the past it opening in a new window.

Which browser are you using, because I'm using Firefox and attachments still open in a new window (as they always have).

Have a look in the "Options", "Tabs" tab.

There you have probably marked the option that forces links that would usually open new windows to open in tabs instead.

(sorry I don't know the exact wording - mine is in portuguese!)

Tools > Options > Tabs "open links from another application in " then check New Window.

This is for Firefox version 1.5.0.3 (latest version). I advise anyone not using this version to update, as it fixes a number of security vulnerabilities.

Thanks for the help guys. Turns out the problem was an extension I'd installed 'tabmix plus'. I've unistalled it and things are working ok again!

Glad to hear things are fixed.

That's the trouble with extensions, they're usually useful, but sometimes they have unexpected side effects.
