Comcast has banned us

I just found out that Comcast is refusing any emails sent from this site. This means no one with a comcast.net email address has been able to register, or receive any sort of notifications (subscribed threads, etc.) for at least a couple of months.

I have filled out "the form" at Comcast to let them know I don't peddle viagra or ringtones, but who knows how long it will take for a human to read it (or even if they believe me).

So:
  1. I've banned comcast.net addresses for new users. This is not out of retribution, but rather to end the confusion of "I registered and never got my verification email" and then they can't get my response, either.
  2. If you are a registered member with a comcast email address, please change to a gmail or other address or you'll never know if anyone is trying to get ahold of you.
  3. Please contact Comcast and tell them you are a subscriber of theirs that wants them to remove 72.52.239.38 from their spam list.

Re: Comcast has banned us

I just got a notification from Comcast that the ban for this domain has been lifted, and Linda has confirmed that it seems to be so. I am impressed at their speed, however the wording of their notice leaves me skeptical that it will "stick" (which might be your reason to still change to another email provider).

I have removed my own ban, so now comcast users can join again.

Re: Comcast has banned us

You tell me. Did you get the notice for the free RP LIVE show? I suspect you did, since I have several registrations from comcast addresses. If you didn't, I'd check your local spam folder first.

Re: Comcast has banned us

This is one reason why people need to get there own email and website set up, under there own domain name. because free email is never reliable, and you never know when a ban will happen from them.

Yep says the smart guy that owns a large website, photography and website design business.

I know you were just teasing, when you said that. But i want to make it clear Im here on these forums to help.

I know what im talking about. Not only is it unprofessional to give a comcast, qwest, microsoft live, or google email to your clients as a source of contact, but also you could be loosing leads by using those free services. If your client gets put on there black list, and they are trying to email you, you will never know. having your own email under your own domain, looks professional, and you control your email. Plus if your email gets banned, and its from a free email acount. good luck trying to get it unbanned. But under your own domain and own email, its just a simple call or form you fill out and your all set to go again.
