Is RP slow?

Dangerous question to ask, but has this site seemed slower than usual the past few days? Diagnostics show nothing is unusual, and tech support says nothing has changed. I tried a couple of speedtest websites and they say all is good. Maybe it's just me?

Re: Is RP slow?

This is all good news to me. Thank you for your reports.

But now I have to figure out why I'm having slowness and no one else is. I even tried Firefox, no different. Probabably my ISP or DNS.

Re: Is RP slow?

I had switched to Safari about 10 days ago because Firefox kept crashing. But Safari was agonizingly slow so I've just switched back - better the occasional crash with Firefox which I can deal with...every click taking 10 seconds with Safari - can't deal with that

Re: Is RP slow?

Figured it out. If you install any of the Adobe suites, think twice about letting it install Adobe Contribute. I'm sure it's a wonderful app, and great if you need it, but it had its fingers deep in my system and was parsing every single web page I viewed in 3 different browsers. I finally used a process viewer and that's how I found it and killed it. If I had a faster machine I probably wouldn't have noticed or minded.

Re: Is RP slow?

interesting. i dont much like rant threads, but lately, software has gotten more and more intrusive without our consent, other than the tacit consent through ignorance and maybe we shld rant a bit more.

I agree with you on that one Craig, plus when you buy a new pc there is preloaded software on that you can not get rid of ! ! !
