GREG: Good point.

If you had ultimate power, how would you suggest accompllishing that?
Glad you asked. I never once ran into it yesterday. It should be visible on almost every page.

Hi Folks

You can't leave for a few days without you guys going nuts. New Site map, New Challenges and millions of great threads.

I like the new site map, but only found it in Dougs opening sentence on the home page. I know it is somewhere else, but I don't see it on my monitor. Is my flop out menu incomplete again..

Jerry

No, I don't think so. It needs to be a little more accessible.

Danny,

I think the link for the site map is a good move. But I still think it should be easy to see from any place someone could go. Newcomers will probably have a hard time finding the map.

I 100% agree, Ed.

The decisions of where to place map links and/or make main menu modifications, or whatever are in Doug's hands. He's given no indication lately that I'm aware of on where he is regarding these decisions nor status or of any tech. implementation that might be needed.

Since he's a pretty busy guy I wuz waiting for him to let us know "in his own time."

Danny

I'm still awaiting ideas for an effective yet tasteful location for a link to it. The menubar is pretty much out of the question, and I don't want to go experimenting, since each iteration will require re-uploading 2000 pages.

Maybe with a little instruction, most of us would be willing to put a link on our posts like Danny has? That would save you a lot of trouble.

DOUG:
Is this the appropriate forum to thrash this out -- or would you prefer to go back to Moderators forum, for $200?

\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Ed: Glad to share...

Here's the code I added to my signature that displays the links to the map and the survey. Anyone is welcome to copy / modify / use at will.

Not sure if there's much value (now) in including the link to the survey thread, but it's here anyway.

Editorial comment: Including link(s) in moderator signatures works dandy IF someone has ventured far enough into the site to get to forums where moderator signatures appear. Just a thought...

------------

IMPORTANT: The leading ['s in this string were replaced by #'s so this will show up as text. Use your favorite word processor to replace the #'s with ['s.

How to do this FYI...

1. Copy the desired URL to the desired destination. I usually just copy it out of the Browser address line.
1a. Navigate to CP and the dialog that allows you to modify the signature verbiage.
2. click the http:// button and type the keyword(s), (OK) then paste in the URL (OK).
3. Select and cut the string creatted by the http:// dialog.
4. Click the B button for bold (or I or U)... and paste in the http:// generated string (OK).
5. Repeat the cut string / click button of choice / paste string into dialog box (OK) until all the attribute characters have been added.
6. Cut/paste final string into the desired location of your post, signature, wherever.

Thanks Danny. I'm working on it, without too much success.
