adding image straight on

i like this forum and i think its got a lot of potential to grow but somehow I feel let down by the fact we cant add an image via html code [img] [/img] or whatever the right terminology for that is. It just makes the experience of reading the messages and seeing the image examples less fluid when I have to click a link that takes me to new page.

can we have that image added to the features?

you can add an image. under the space where you type are two buttons, "post quick reply" and "go advanced". hit the second one and when the new space comes up, look down to where the "manage attachments" is and hit it. that will bring up a new window where you can load images from your harddrive to here. use the browse feature there to find your pic on your drive and go ahead and click on it. then hit "ok".

you are limited to the specified file types listed in that 'manage attachments' window and also by the file size. for patrons and moderators the limit is 200k. for all others it's 100k.

we actually do welcome folks posting here. we also have a gallery where you can post and a library where you can post links to favorite graphics-related websites.

what I meant was the ability to hotlink images from other websites using html codes like forums like this:

Hotlinks break (or worse). They can also be used to spread exploits and swapped for unpleasant images. They can also be used to steal bandwidth, which is the biggest expense for most web masters. They also break site formatting, and don't allow for the nifty before/after toggling we have here.
