Hmmm....

Either I'm blind as a bat, or you have Superman vision :)

I have to use that size font, I broke my magnifying glass...

Sanda: See if there has been any change in Netscape. Believe it or not, that has nothing to do with everyone else's scrollbar problem. That's just due to my CSS incompetence :)

Sanda 09-01-2002 06:24 PM

Netscape is working just fine now Doug. :)

Hi Doug, everything was working this morning before I left, and now after being away all day, I don't have a pop-out menu at all - tried several forum pages.

Since I don't have the menu, I decided to log on to the main site and check behavior there. I typed in http://www.retouchpro.com and got a blank (black) page! I tried several times and that's all I got. No indication that the page was waiting to load, no error, just the black page of doom. Don't know what that's about.

I know you have enough problems right now, but thought you'd want to know.

I'm using Mac OS 9.2 and IE 5.1.3

Margaret

If anyone gets the "black page of doom", do me a favor and use 'view source' to see if anything actually downloaded. You don't have to send it to me, or post any excerps here, just see if it looks like there is text in the source that isn't displaying.

Hi Doug, sorry I didn't think to view source before I posted before. I'm including a screen shot of the left third of the source (it stretches beyond the screen to the right)

I don't trust my javascript knowledge enough to even attempt to interpret what's happening here - if this isn't enough to give you an idea, I can grab the whole thing into a text editor and send it. Let me know.

This screen shot is to the bottom of the source page, and only cuts off a couple of standard tags at the top.

Hope this helps,
Margaret

Margaret:

Do me a favor and go back to that same page and tell me if you see any difference (ie: still see the POD)

No, rite. I can't get it to do the thing right now because the menu has disappeared in most windows. I will when it goes back to it's normal disfunctional behavior.

Mine was fine too until a few moments ago, now menubar gone. Up until now, I had been catching up on my subscribed threads from email links (the flyout menubar was alive as it popped out as I ran over it), but as soon as I went in and used the menus, it disappeared.

Doug, it's almost like we're back in the old days when you first introduced the flyout menubar.

Doug, I just checked http://www.retouchpro.com again and still get the POD. I checked the source again and see that there is now a </html> tag at the bottom that I didn't see before, but still the page won't load.

I don't envy you trying to track this down - I know what it's like to make one change and have so many other things unintentally affected.

If I'm the only one having this problem, don't worry about it. As soon as I get a chance, I'll upgrade my browser (if there is a new Mac version) and let you know how that goes.

Thanks, Margaret
