Yes Don CJ just mentioned it earlier. I'd probably be still using Zone Alarm or Tiny but I got the Norton Firewall as an add on with some hardware and that performs ok although of course it doesnt come free.

I've recently acquired an ADSL line and what with trying to get Norton to play as well as the modem/router firewall its an ongoing battle especially with ICQ.

I've gotten a couple of emails on this, so I decided to add a link to the main site page and a special page summarizing the solutions you've provided here:

http://www.retouchpro.com/pages/red-x.html

Feedback would be appreciated. Also, I'd love to be able to add screenshots, but I don't use any of the affected firewalls. So, if you're feeling altruistic, post them here or email them to me and I'll add them.

Norton Internet Security 2003

I've tried to follow the instructions for the Norton Firewall adjustment as suggested by Chris H - but in Norton Internet Security 2003 I can't seem to find out how to allow the referrer information to be sent.

Screenshot attached, I hope, for info. I've been through the firewall configuration to add RetouchPro to have both in and outbound communication but this doesn't seem to work. I can't see any relevant adjustments that can be made within the privacy section.

Anybody able to talk me through it? All ideas gratefully received.

Thanks.

Scott.

Scott,

I can't see how you've got to this screen following the thread I posted. Unless there's been a change to the Norton layout. See below for relevant screen.

Chris - The screen I posted was simply the front end for setting options on NIS 2003 - they must have changed the layout somewhat.

Doug - Right on the money! Should have looked there myself before bothering you all. Might be worth adding that link to your Red-X instruction page.

Thanks to you both for getting me back into glorious technicolour.

I'm glad it finally worked out for you.

I did add that link, and another one, to the red-x page. I'll continue to update it as new information is posted here.
