Points to ponder on turning pro

Try this one for a smile - when you think that going from a hobby into this business is a chicken / egg proposition, this article may have some valid similarities for you to consider!

Some true words in there....

I recently thought about finding some new customers in the real estate business. The agents make their crappy photos of houses and appartments and send 'em to my ftp server, I retouch them and they download it the other day. But thinking about the hard facts I dumped this idea faster than an empty can of coke:

1 customer means:

4 hours to aquire
1/2 hour to setup ftp profile and other stuff
At least 40$ each month to pay off the equipment I'd need, bandwidth, phone bills, unpaid work like "I don't like this one, please redo it"

How many years would it take to get my balance to a plus if this guy sends me a dozen photos every day and doesn't pay more than maybe 50 Cents because otherwise it's too expensive for him?

Just some thoughts...
