| Fine Art/Illustration I'm sure I'm not alone in this. I have a whole series of non-photo digital illustrations I've done over the years, some of which I've posted in several forums here (see sample attached). I've done them mostly for fun and to learn the program better but I've received very positive feedback on my work and would like to look into doing something with it. I'm not really interested in the tee-shirt coffee mug route (though I have nothing against it) and was wondering if anyone had found a good way of dealing with digital artowrk as fine art. For example, do you make a limited set of prints and the destroy the PSD? Do you market as a regular print and sell for less? do you provide a digital file for a fee and let the buyer use however they would like? I'm not sure what would make more sense and what would actually work. I ask because I think this thread could benefit more than one person here. Last edited by goose443; 08-18-2005 at 11:54 AM. | Hmmm, I can't offer much advice but you might try searching the web. I know some artists start selling their stuff on various sites such as zazzle.com and other sites where you can decide how you want to sell your image such as posters, greeting cards and so on. You also might want to check out DigitalBlasphemy.com. He creates a lot of digital art work for sale and might be able to better answer your questions. |

| I currently own a website that sells fine art Giclee prints. We make the prints ourselves. We originally set up a studio to create artwork for our clients. Then we figured we'd print them ourselves. We are currently working on a site to offer printing as well. We will offer deeply discounted prints to artists only. The site is www.PrintingArtwork.com and is under construction, but feel free to check it out. I have more to say but we are currently vacationing on the Florida Panhandle and we're waiting to see what Hurricane Katrina is going to do. |
