How much to charge my client for 1 page brochure/8x11/, basic design, 5h work?

What to charge a client has some variables. Is your charge just for design work or are you acting as a jobber as well? (Will you be getting the brochure printed and doing the billing for the print as well as your design?)

Much depends on your demographics. I'm in the swamps and cannot expect to charge what the ad agencies in Orlando, Tampa, Lauderdale etc. charge. I charge $40 an hour for typeset, layout and design, but in the big city the charges can run several hundred dollars an hour.

When I act as a jobber, I add 40% to my cost of the actual printing.

Did you provide any other services such as photography, scanning, color correction, copy editing? I have up charges for these services. Scans - $10, photo services (including searching for stock photos) $40 per hour etc.
