| Asymmetric marketing I got into an argument with a vendor today over one of his webpages. If you were an old hand you'd know that you needed more than his webpage offered (listed on other pages), but if you were a newb you'd think you'd found a great deal on that one page.
I asked him "do you really want to be that guy, the one that preys on customer ignorance"? Evidently, he does.
I guess my point, the only reason I'm posting this here, is "don't be that guy". If you sell a product or a service, make sure your customer has enough information to make an informed decision. And if you can't sell your product or service to a fully-informed consumer, you're in the wrong business. |
