information please

I would like to get tips or/and information on whats needed for RESTORATION of photos NOT FASHION OR COMMERCIAL WORK but old photographs.Any info such as tutorials, books or courses I have a background in Photography and also Silkscreening I am now doing research for a book on 19th century photography and am interested in learning how to restore old photographs PROPERLY

In one word... Katrin Eismann's "Restoration & Retouching". Probably the best book on the subject.

ditto on the Katrin E book. I even actually have two different editions of it. Has tons of info on restoring old photos.

A good channels book might be of value also.
