| | | Re: Craigslist, ideal place to find cheap retouche Craigslist is a great place to find apts out here in LA if you don't mind seeing posts from creepy old men offering $1 or FREE rent to young women between the age of 18-25 in exchange for their so-called house chores/services.
Anyway, I responded to a photographer's posting on Craigslist looking for a retouched with expert 3D/CG skill. The story is that this photographer is trying to open a retouching house that offers highly creative retouching services similar to Platinum in Brazil and Taylor James in U.K. This photog is looking to collaborate with a retoucher/3D artist to create a few sample pieces for portfolio use between the photog and the retoucher/3D artist. I thought to myself that this photog is ambitious and aiming for quality and I might get the chance to work on some high profile pieces if this worked out. So, I agreed to the collaboration and he sent me a couple of ideas. One of the ideas was basically required me to build everything from scratch in 3D. I insisted that we should incorporate some of his photography in there, otherwise it'll be just my work for him to use it in his portfolio. He didn't reply back...very fishy. |

I would love to be a fly on the wall for those "interviews". If anybody shows up. Who's a retoucher. |

| | | Re: Craigslist, ideal place to find cheap retouche That ad is giving me a bad memory I wish I had forgotten. Years ago, fresh out of school, I answered an ad almost identical to this. The photographer took a polaroid of me holding a big white card w/my name and number on it (I left a digit out because I found it creepy). Then he sat me down at a computer to give me a Photoshop test. He stood behind me suspiciously jangling his keys in his pocket. I just stood up and said, "That's it. I'm done. Good bye!" He shook my hand and it was wet. I never made that mistake again. |

| | | Re: Craigslist, ideal place to find cheap retouche I think like most places they are looking to get the best person at the lowest rate.
So basically it is up to you to accept or pass
But they will find someone to do it,its just the way it is
just my opinion
