| | | La Boutique / Tarik Malak Hi there,
Has anyone heard of La Boutique ? That new NYC photo retouching studio ? I have seen a few stories in Vmag, Teen Vogue, Pop, ID, Vogue Italy, etc. Their work is really really amazing...
I ve heard that the dude running it is some French guy called Tarik Malak. Apparently he s a great creative, super connected with designers, photographers, etc...
I would love to work there... If anyone has an email or a contact, would be great... I can't find the website.
Many thanks. |

| | | Re: La Boutique / Tarik Malak I have met with Tarik. Offered me a Job just before I moved to Texas. A week before actually. He's a pretty nice guy actually.
He has a large shop, sparsely manned. Frequently uses freelancers. His shop is a branch of a retouching house in Paris. But they still put out some good work most of the time.
I don't know the url for his shop. If you can get a job there its a great place to hone your creative skills.

La Boutique is actually owned by B'pong Paris for what I understand... They
have pretty huge network between Paris and NYC...
I ve heard that the guy Tarik Malak used to work as an art buyer and art
director in different ad agencies...
Here an article on their space : http://www.interiordesign.net/id_article/CA6533231/id
But there are no pics, I've heard it was gorgeous...
The general email is info@laboutiqueny.com
It s all I have ! Good luck ! |

"Robin Elmslie Osler knows the importance of proper lighting, not only because she's an architect but also because she once modeled for the likes of Helmut Newton. "I have an intimate understanding of how light works in photography," she says. However, in the case of La Boutique, a photography retouching studio with big-name clients including Chanel and Vogue Italia, it's an absence of light that's actually required. This commission pushed her conception of light versus dark to a higher level."
If she modeled for Helmut, she would have an intimate knowledge of leather products, not lighting. c'mon.
