I don't know about that. Too many years sitting on the lazy boy shifting pixels, I kinda let myself go...a lot. I need a back up plan.

Great start to the day!

Its been announced that there will be 18 redundancys! just recieved a memo stating what departments it will affect, there are 3 retouchers on my floor and it states 1 creative retoucher will have to go! So my days could be numbered. Didn''t think the credit crunch would effect us, how wrong was I. I've decided if i'm on the hit list i'm gonna cut my losses and get a working visa in OZ or somewhere else that seems appealing.

Should find out within the next few days! will keep you peeps posted on the outcome!

It sounds weird and crazy and many people will laught at you, but you know, you're damn right and it's worst, it's globalized and there are lot of freelancers cheapen their works, specially from India, and they're millions!!!

One of the works that cannot be outsouurced is Photography, but believe me, I have seen projects in many websites where the client ask for a photographer located in some country in order to do different tasks. I remember a client from U.K. who did like 10 projects where he sent around 50 dispensable digital cameras with 500 shots each one to different countries in order to get tourist-like pohotographs. How much he paid? Less than 30 dollars per 500 pictures... Of course, tehre were "winners" in that proyect...

Did you ever see the movie Dirty Rotten Scoundrels? We could work together as a team. I, of course, will be the smooth, sophisticated actor in the schemes.

Your company actually lets you know ahead of time? Not here, my friend. There had been 3 waves of lay-off in the past 6 months at where I work. I've survived all 3 of them so far, but I'm pretty sure that it'll be my turn when the next wave comes. It's very unpleasant having the thought everyday that HR might come over and tell you that you have 30 mins to pack up your stuff. Good luck.
