Re: glossy lips, how to do? (make-up question)

Hi bro,

I think the lips has been covered with that glossy and transparent lipstick, I think there is more post work in that pic that in the shot. Just see the over saturated reds, they looks pretty flat and posterized, specially in the petal located at the bottom. About the lips, I think there is a huge healing brush work there, or any other technique to remove the lips lines. And the redness of the lips looks like overpowered by using a black layer over them with Overlay and some opacity movements.

Well, that's what I can say.

Hope it helps

Mart

Hire a good make-up artist. Her lips hasn't been that retouched.
It's mostly good make up and good light.

I'm sorry to disagree, Camilla K, but I have seen hundred of before and after and wow... It's incredible what can be done by using Photoshop.

Hi. Yes it's pretty amazing. I've seen hundreds as well.
However, I used to work with this photographer before and I can assure you, the lips have not been retouched. They are that glossy.
Trust me.

Piccadilly- If you have the absolute luxury of influencing the effect on the photo set, I encourage you to gloss the model's lips as much as possible, then throw an undiffused light on them as well. Yes, it can be done in post, but it's not for the faint of heart. I'd rather take some reflections away than try to add them in Photoshop.
