yeah ok, i suppose i should've done a search before i posted this. didn't realize this topic has been beaten to death and it really wasnt my intent to drudge up old stuff.
Apparently there are a lot of people that have some sort of infatuation this guy's mystique and have a need to put him up on a pedestal. I frankly find that pretty lame, so I really dont want to perpetuate that with this post at all.

I just thought there were interesting things about the industry in general in the article, and that people trying to learn more about how the industry works could benefit from reading the article. thats all.

Like I said in another thread, he's old school. That article is getting a little old, so one wonders how his finances have weathered the worst recession in decades and the escalating dissolution of the magazine industry. Conde Nast has closed four or five magazines since it was written, and Annie Leibovitz has essentially gone bankrupt. Maybe there will be a cool building in the meatpacking district for sale soon. With a hot tub on top.
