Freelance work - online

Hi All,

I did a quick search of the forums trying to find out some info on the online service providers for freelancers and potential employers to connect i.e. elance, ifreelance, guru, etc. The posts that I found were quite old (back to 2004) so thought I'd raise the question again. Hopefully I haven't missed a more recent thread - if I have my apologies and feel free to point me in the right direction.

So, has anyone here had any experience of freelancer sites - good or bad - for retouching/restoration work? If so, any recommendations, any 'must avoids', and any advice for anywhere else that may be worth a look for someone experienced who is trying to make some new connections, and hopefully gain some additional income as a result?

Thanks in advance.

experience of freelancer sites?? hmm, don't like any. I have tried a couple, waste of time, you will more likely be outbid by some 3rd world company.

Yeah, that seems to be a common problem. I see some are charging less than $5 per hour, which is just ludicrous. The quality of work from many of them leaves a lot to be desired though and probably reflects the price. There must be some companies out there who are still prepared to pay a fair wage for a professional job though.
