| Pay scale for tutoring? I work for a photographer freelancing and they want to pay me come in and teach them some retouching methods. Im not new to design but im also not a "high end" retoucher. Im a little iffy on doing this as it will essentially render my services obsolete. They asked me to come up with an hourly amount to teach them. Any thoughts or ideas on this? |

| Re: Pay scale for tutoring? 'Grant graciously that which you cannot refuse'. An old saying but true. If they want tuition they'll find it elsewhere anyway or, worse, bring someone else on board. Think of it as an opportunity to get to know them better; once they see how time consuming and tricky it is to retouch properly it may even convince them not to attempt the DIY route. When they screw up they'll be on the phone to you again! Charges will depend on your local prevailing rates but I would make it more than your normal hourly rate. R. |
