Need advice for breaking into retouching!

I am a late-in-life beauty retoucher. More specifically, I'm a 38 yo Nyc makeup artist who's obsessed with retouching. It fills some obsessive-compulsive need in me like picking scabs or something. Sorry for that visual.

That said, I have no idea how to go about getting my foot in the door. I've been retouching my own images as well as friends' for 10+ years, but have no actual schooling in design. Being self-taught, I'm a little intimidated by what I may not know. I've gotten a few retouching jobs through word of mouth, but they haven't amounted to anything I would want to put in a portfolio. I do have a retouching site with before and after's, which I'll post below.

If I was just starting out in makeup, I would tell me to contact agencies and request to assist already established makeup artists. Is there a retouching equivalent? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
