Hust thought I would up date you on that lady who wanted me to work on her original. After I scanned her original and returned it to her I got to work on the restoration. I completed the job and was about to print it out so I rang her to arrange to delivery. I was amazed when she told me she no longer wanted the restoration and still wanted the original repaired. She had been talking to friends who convinced her that she could do it herself. So she has glued the cuts back together and even pasted a piece in where some of the photo was missing. She is now in the process of painting over the scratches. I'm not sure what sort of paints she is using but I fear she's going to do a lot more damage. I wish I could see the final result, I feel like deleting my files so that when she needs the copies they won't be there, but I won't.

I guess this is the same gene in action that makes so many people feel that they have to try bleaching their own hair using domestic bleach before they can accept that there's a REASON specialist products were invented...

This would be a highly entertaining saga except that I hate to hear of anyone doing that to an old photo... sigh... still, at least you have an electronic version for when she realises the error of her ways (you're going to charge her double then, right? )

I certainly would like to charge her double but I had already quoted her for the job and don't think I could go back on my word even though she did.

I never turn away restoration work. And, I never do restoration work. We actually outsorce all of our restoration work to another artisit here in Houston. And I suppose, if she turned away an order we sent to her, I would look for some one here at retouchpro.com to do the job.
