| | | Hi,
I got it, but... ahhh! It says this file isn't compatible with my current version of Photoshop. I have Adobe Photoshop 7.0... |

| | | Perhaps you are using the new CS Photoshop? Would you be able to open it in Photoshop 7 then save it as a PSD 7 file? |

| | | Hi TylerCruz, Vikki,
Yes, I use Photoshop CS on this computer ....
Even if we hadn't talked about our Photoshop version, before saving the picture to upload, I checked about the 'file compatibility' ....
I've checked the 'Always' in the preferences box asking about 'Maximize file compatibility' .... and I know I didn't use any of the very new features in CS, not yet present in PS7 ....
..... I haven't PS7 installed on this computer .... I'll install it on my other computer and try .....
Downgrade file compatibility...maybe another CS bug???? |

| | All done!
Installed PS7 on the other computer.
Opened the image with it ... (btw ....no problem whatsoever in opening and going through the Layers etc.)
Saved the Image (renaming it to " F7_corner1.psd") with PS7.
...and now I'm uploading it to your server ....
I'll let you know when the upload is completed... |

| | | If this fails, I would go with the jpg.
I'm sure if you asked, Flora would be able to fix any minor changes the customer had.
Also, the customer might be happy with the image as is. |

| | Dang... same error! Only a small difference this time: this file shows the preview image when I click on the file in Photoshop.. the other one didn't.
It gives me an error saying it can't read the layer data properly, and gives me the choice of Reading Composite data, which when I do, nothing opens, otherwise Photoshop closes.
I guess I'll just take the JPG - I already wasted so much of your time. At least now we know that both our Photoshop's don't like each other, so if we ever transfer something to one another in the future, we know just to send the JPG.
So yes, please send the JPG, and save it as 12 - highest quality (Of course )
Thanks |

| | Vikki,
...we did have to go for the .JPG .... Alan,
Thank you very much for your comment ..... I do hope the client will be happy ....for all of us .... TylerCruz,
... so sorry it didn't work ......
One dumb question ..... could it depend on the 'upload program'?
Anyway .... uploading the .JPG format .... Uploaded!!!
Please let me know ....
Just let me know if your client would like any change .... or if you found out what the incompatibility problem could be .... and would like to try again ....

| | | Hi,
Got it - thanks.
Kinda ironic, eh? You upload 100 megs of files, then a 500 KB file ends up being the one used.
You could be right about the upload program. If somebody else tries to send me a PSD file in the future, and it doesn't open for me, then I'll contact the programmer and see why it's doing that.
Thanks. The lady should be coming sometime this week (not sure on exact day), and I'll get back to you in this thread when she does. |

| | | I phoned her, and there was an unfortunate mix up. I won't get into it, but she sounds nice and I think she will go through with it. I e-mailed her the before and afters so she could look online.
I should receive an answer either today or tomorrow hopefully (I asked her to tell me either way).
Will keep you updated. |
