hourly rate question for LA

hi~
i'm a freelancer living in LA. does anyone happen to know the going rate for retouchers who work for the entertainment industry?
the work is mostly for companies who design movie posters, for movies like 'Spiderman' and other blockbusters like that.
...so the companies are all quite reputable.
thanks a lot!

You might want to drop a note to Lee Varis over at http://www.varis.com. It's hard to find a major movie poster that he hasn't worked on. He told me most of his work involves photographing standins, then Photoshopping the real actor's head on later

$30-60 per hour

I freelance for one of the top fashion advertising agencies in New York, I'm really just starting out and I make $30/hr. but some of the guys that have been there longer charge more...up to $60..however, you dont see them around as much because theres a budget for retouching. its the same in LA...keep your rate reasonable if you want work.
