| | Take a look at my textless website! Dear fellow retouchers,
I am working on my website but I don't have any experience with webdesign. I made the layout in Photoshop (Imageready) and the text part is somewhat confusing. Understandable, because Photoshop is not a text editor.
The rollovers are there (before and afters) but there is no text!
Some feedback or suggestions would be very welcome.
Thanks in advance http://home.versatel.nl/el-gregorio
oh btw, there are no google ads (yet)

| | Hi Hannibal ! I was peeking at the source code and what I did not see is a link to a style sheet or any indication of text formatting. What will you use for typing in the text or can you post a small paragraph of the text you intend to use ?
Hope this may be of help ?
Martha
P.S.: I am such a beast, forgot to tell you that I like you design and the colours are good too. Sorry was too intent in trying to help with the coding |

| | Hehe ! Are you familiar with Dreamweaver ? If you are you just open it and chose new and the rest is just following the steps as the program takes you more or less easily, or you can take a look at one of the tutorials at Geekforum Please excuse if this is not the type of assistance you are looking for.
Hope you find what you are looking for

| | | Hannibal,
I looked at your web site, and I have to say, I haven't seen a web site that was done only in ImageReady, pretty different. I like it though, you have good taste, and I use ImageReady all of the time and I wouldn't have thought to do that.
But, I have to say, I LOVE your work, you are REALLY good! At first I didn't know that there were roll-overs, and when I did see it, I was impressed.
(The lady you redid was my favorite!)
Very nice job on all of it.
I agree with the Dreamweaver program, if you can afford it, it's pretty easy, and if you can make what you did in ImageReady, you will figure out Dreamweaver.

| | Hey big mistake on my part, thought that all the nice comments from Randy were yours for my site
I did my template in PS CS2 and the slicing was done by Image Ready based on the slices I made in PS. Once that was finished I "tell" IR to export the slices and the html to Dreamweaver and there I do the usual stuff of placing some of the images as background images in the table so I can write the text on the resulting cells. I would not mind giving you some outlines as to how slice your template. Meantime will find out what alternatives are there for web site designing.
Let me know how I may assist you with your proyect. |

I like the look, but the graphical side slows it down a bit.
I agree with Marthig, get yourself a copy of dreamweaver. It's quite easy to use and will get you up and running in no time.
But if you want a graphics only site, why not put your text in an image.
This is the background image from your site with text added. You can upload this edited version to see what I mean, as I've kept the file name the same |

| | Thank you all for your replies, and thanks for your compliments!
My site was indeed done completely in Photoshop (lay-out) and Imageready (slices). I only did some minor adjustment in Notepad ( Put a black background behind the layout, and centered the layout).
Marthig, I looked at your site after all, and it does look good. Very nice lay-out.
chrishoggy, thanks for your advice, but I want real text on my website. Because I want the search engines to find my website!
I think you all made a good point. I think I am gona get me a copy of dreamweaver |
