Any thoughts or critiques would be appreciated.

Re: New Site

I love your site and your work Rick. Did you build the website yourself?

Re: New Site

Nice work Rick
The problem with your site is you have to scroll up and down Maybe you could resize or get it to resize.

Re: New Site

Thanks zganie

I had the site at 1024 X 768 for a while and got complaints that it was too small so I uped it to 1280 X 1024 but with the border it's actually 1180 X 740. Unfortunately freeway doesn't support liquid layouts which would be ideal. I'll have to see how many complaints I get about the size and then decide what to do. After checking around it would seem as though 1280 X 1024 is becoming the new standard size with over 57% to it's credit and as you can imagine in retouching images, bigger is better for potential clients

Re: New Site

I have my screen resolution set at 1920 x 1200 pixel and it looks fine. In fact, it doesn't even fill the screen.

I think you are correct in choosing the screen resolution you have.

Re: New Site

I think it's great.

If I had to nit-pick, I'd ask that the duration of the images in the opening slide show be a wee bit longer (Firefox 3.5.7 on my end). If you've done that deliberately so the viewer is forced to dig deeper into your site, so be it.

Re: New Site

On my DSL connection, some of the images take a while to load, Other than that I like the clean look, and the roll-overs are great. Ncie photo work too.

Re: New Site

Site worked fine. Your retouching is not my taste and I think it's a bit heavy handed. Blurred skin is..... well.

But a good site.

Re: New Site

Well funny you should say that because there is absolutely no blur on any of the images on my site. Every image is done with D&B layers or hi and low frequency masks because blur is well you know...

Thanks for the comments DJ

Thanks NCP

Hanginon : I felt the same after looking at it a few times and have done exactly what you said.
Thanks

Re: New Site

Well if there's no blur then I take that back. It looks blurred then.

Re: New Site

not quite sure how that would help.

I think the attached picture looks blurred in the skin area. The clothing has bucketloads of texture and detail. The skin does not. Look at her forehead and the turban on top of her head. Maybe I'm mistaken, but that's how it looks to me.
