suggestion for a (free or very cheap ) host?

i hope this is not OT
I badly need to start a side to promote my work ,and till i don't get client i would like to avoid to pay fee, (even if i may consider cheap offers)

i would like start with something simple BUT extendible at soon needed (i.e more bandwith if more visitors start to come)

i have no familiarity with html and alike

About the side i want promote

Retouch and restore works
Painted or sketched works from ( client) photo
artwork available on request on print, or even printed on t-shirt, mug...and so on



well any suggestion for a good but not expensive (again even better free, at least in the beginning ) host?

Hostgator is extremely reliable with awesome customer support. Pricing start from around $4.

I second the recommendation for Host Gator. They're inexpensive AND reliable.

I switched to Host Gator to host my website after an unpleasant experience years ago with a "cheap" host (ie, cheap does not always equal good!) that seemed to lack human presence on the other end of the line, in addition to the fact that I quickly outgrew their basic package. With Host Gator, I am using their very generous Hatchling package and have not outgrown it after several years, despite decent traffic and offering PDFs to download.

Also, consider splitting your domain registration and hosting packages between two companies (another lesson I learned from the "cheap" host). I use Go Daddy for domain and Host Gator for hosting.

Hostgator is great. I'm a web designer and use them for myself and all my clients.

But for free you could set a photo blog on Wordpress.com. They have pre-made themes you can choose from and then just add your photos and content and your good to go. You could be up and running in under an hour.

I took some pictures of my friend's childern on the last Friday and I have created a very simple web page for them. This is not a "public" webpage yet as it is for the test purpose only. But I thing this is the best way how to present your work in the future. I did not use flash as it is to slow and I hate to see this message all the time: "please wait - loading" ... And IPhone, iPad & iPod does not support flash so a couple of millions of people are not able to see my work ...
