A montage of photos taken on a trip to the extreme north west of Namibia. Not a very good montage, but rather to show Chris H what overlanding in Africa entails.

I like the upper middle shot, 3 colour masses punctuated by the gazelle ?
Do you carry extra fuel on these trips or is supply not a problem ?

No fuel supplies in these remote areas! I went in with about 170 litres for the 1200km between filling stations (just made it too!)

BTW, the gazelle is called a springbok (used to be highly rated in the UK, Oz & NZ!)

great montage! I would love to haul my telescope out there.... I imagine you can see millions of stars on a clear night.

You won't believe how many stars you can see. There are no towns and no electricity, so no glare from electric lights.

Wow - these photos brought back some memories for me ... I went there about 7 years ago - what a place! So desolate & beautiful (if that's not a contradiction in terms!)

Great pics, Al.

Thanks Sharon & Sam. One day when I've got a bit of time I'll do a curves adjustment on the individual pix and resubmit it. The whole image went rather flat and dark after I jpegged and uploaded it.

Glad to see you're still able to communicate with us, Sam.
