Hi T Paul,
I don't think I found something new and I know that it doesn't work on every picture but it is in fact extremely easy.
I saw that many people start their work with the desaturate/copy invert/blur/color dodge routine (sketch)and after trying it a few times on different pictures I tried to figure out why you get something out of nothing suddenly. After a while it hit me(it must have been a banknote instead of a penny-so slow) and I tried something else instead of the blur. I used the cutout filter instead of the blur, put the colored layer on top with blend color, tweaked the opacity's a little and that's all.
