Self portrait, 1973-4. This negative was thin and a total wreck after several cleaning and as the chemical old timers will no even using nose grease as a last resort did not work on the negative. So what you see here is at least 10 hours plus work. This piece has a dark setting to it and it should. I have reduced a lot of the darks on the face. Any more, I will lose the mood of the piece. My son said all I need are some rosary beads in my hands. Carl

Sounds like you had quite the task in restoring this. Looks like you did an excellent job! And your son is right about the rosary beads (smile).
