Vikki, this is wonderful! I too like the look of vintage photos but appreciate how color can really bring them to life. You've managed to retain that vintage look and reveal to us what the photographer may have seen.

Some excellent work in your gallery, but this one is my favourite. I'm particularly impressed with your work on the subjects hair. What is your technique for colouring those individual "flyaway" strands?

Thanks everyone, for the nice feedback!
Ian, regarding the hair. I don't really have a technique for the hair. I think it helps if the background color is similar, so that it's easier to blend and not so apparent when it doesn't.

Vikki,
Yes I can see how that would help. I think your choice of colours here has helped the image to look more natural overall. I think my instinct would have been to go for a blue/grey background, which would have caused me problems with the hair.
Something for me to be aware of in future.
