This is the first time I've ever attempted a restoration. It began as part of the Curves tutorial and one thing led to another. I wanted to try a few things, like replacing the missing parts of the image. Any suggestions for improvement will be appreciated.

I think you did a very good job for being your first attempt. I am new to this also, so i can understand where you are coming from. The people on this forum are so very helpful so continue and don't get discourged. Like Flora says, practice, practice, practice.

Looks good! Keep up the good work. Maybe just a little more contrast to bring out the boys features. But thats just me. Good luck.
