General George Armstrong Custer 1861. Colored and restored image.
A quick portrait coloring of General Custer. The scarf and gloves really come to life after the coloring, and gives a hint to how flamboyant Custer was. This I think is the point of image coloring, to bring B&W photographs to life, not to replace the original historical image but to give them a more human quality. **** The one area I haven't colored is the pin/badge on his red scarf, I couldn't identify it and would welcome any feedback as to it's identity.

It appears to be similar to this pin, although I can't account for the two vertical lines on either side.

Thanks for the info Doug it's much appreciated ... I think the two vertical lines could be a riding crop, or whip ... not sure. Thanks again.
