A digital work that grew out of an unfinished painting. This one combines a painting (the figure), scanned objects (leaves), scanned ink splatters and elements of 3 photos...and the kitchen sink!

The mystery woman is my lovely wife. I'll probably have the image printed and give it to her as a gift...hopefully she'll like it!

This would be an excellent suspense novel cover. You did a wonderful job combining all your elements. I really like the translucent leaves and the scanned ink splatter really gives it a nice artistic quality. Nice job on the unfinished painting as well. I haven’t been brave enough to try and paint a person yet. I think your wife will love it.

The branches of the leaves against the figure make the leaves seem like trees.. You have created a very believable yet abstract space. Nicely done. G

Has any one mentioned that it looks like a Chagall in terms of color palette?

Color - It's just a pigment of your imagination..

Thank you all for the wonderful comments!

angue - You are right about the Chagall-like colors...I've always admired his color choices and must have had that in the back of my mind!

Greg, your imaginative artwork astounds me. I can't even comment, since I wouldn't know where to start: color, composition, line, texture...you seem to handle all elements of art with such naturalness and expertise that you make it look easy, but I know it is NOT. I really enjoy seeing your contributions!

Phyllis - Thanks for the compliments!...just got around to reading them and I feel overwhelmed! It might look easy, but you are correct...a lot of work goes into it and a lot of bad art gets made through the years in order to make work that is halfway good. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
