I love the photo but I am curious about how big it is and just what it is.

DJ, This is one of the more famous hot spring pools in Yellowstone. The different colors are due to algae that live in the water. Different algae live at different temperatures thus the different colors. The pool itself is about 40 feet by 30 feet. The lowest part that you can see is about 20 feet deep at least...photos really don't do this justice (actually, I'm not a real good photographer). Took 4 different photos of each corner and one of the middle all stiched together with photoshop to get this baby in one shot.
