RetouchPRO has been going for about 7 years now, but it's far from my first forum site. I thought I'd share some little behind-the-scenes experience I've gained from running a successful mid-volume forum (and a few less successful forums).
People can be amazingly nice
I get emails every day from people I don't know letting me know about possible trouble on the site, references to the site I probably haven't seen, and just plain "thank you" emails that can make my day.
People can be amazing jerks
One of the foulest and most objectionable emails I've ever seen, let alone received, came from someone who objected to my refusal to allow freemail addresses on joining.
People can be both nice and jerks

by Doug NelsonOne year ago today (April 4) is the day retouchpro.com first went online.
It's simultaneously hard to believe it's been a year already, and that it's only been a year. So many things have changed in that year (both here and everywhere else).
We started with a tiny bit of...-
