I guess this is the danger of being self taught. I just realized that PS brushes have NAMES! That sure makes painting with them easier than just using the thumbnails. lol
Also the Edit>Fade command seems to work on all filters...including Plug-Ins! ^5 :-) This is really cool. Especially with the Medhi kaleidoscope filter. Attached is a foxglove picture manipulated in such a way.

by skoobeySo... um one of those silly questions.
I never really work with special brushes(I mean I do change scattering, pattern, transfer and shape dynamics, but all using the default round brush).
What keeps happening all day today is that PS switches between brushes while I am...-

by e.b.westOK, here it is:
I'm starting to progress(?) from just using filters to also using brushes. Many of the tutorials I read say "use a soft brush". What exactly is a "soft brush"? I'm using Elements 2 and I beleive most of the brushes are the same as PS.

by GuestThis is one that has bugged me, getting 2 colors on one brush. Painter does it, and tonite I found a brush in PS7 that will, but it's not as easy to control as the one in P6/7. So, if there are any PS gurus here that know how to make brushes and modify them, come on down.

by artmakerCan't believe I never did this before, never needed one. Do now!

Nasturtium I have often wondered if the creators of photoshop know how to use ps to the max ?
I like to do video tuts every now and again as i learn things that way, it may not be anything new to me but there may be a new shortcut or a way of doing things i hadnt considered etc. and then promptly a month on forget all about it and start learning all over again
I think the makers of PS may be surprised how it IS used sometimes. lol. Yes, I'm learning new easier ways to do old things...like the alt+cancel in curves & levels will revert to default. Very handy to know.
