I've always had a vague idea about levels, curves and blending modes but she explains clearly what happens with those adjustments. I'm much more likely to retain something if I'm told why instead of how.

My apologies to everyone who has left comments on my blog so far. I'm still not completely sure how to approve them. I hope I've gotten to them all.

Because this is my first post on this forum, let me start with a small introduction. I'm Willem-Aart, 24 years old, living in The Netherlands and somewhat obsessed by automotive photography.

During the 3-4 years I've been photographing cars, I've learned a lot about photography and retouching....

I just signed up the other day, and as an aside, was so happy to see that it's all referred to as "retouching" and not "editing". I've been in the photo biz for over 20 years and that's always annoyed me. I guess what they say about old dogs might be true.

      Hello all,

I'm fairly new here but I am working hard at improving my retouching ability. I'm always doing tutorials, practising and I've managed to catch about 4 webinars here already. I've really loved them!

I've been browsing the forums a bit. They are fascinating and...

      Photoshop Experience

I tried doing a search on this but didn't find any threads that really fit with my question.

I was wondering how each of you learned how to use Photoshop. Was it trial-and-error, or did you pick up a book and teach yourself in a structured manner, or take a class? Or do you just pick...
