    Too many permutations

    Yesterday I listened to two great Podcasts from here;

    One was with Fay Sirkis and the other with Katrin Eismann. And in a way they said the same thing. That the more traditional art (painting/photography) you know the better your Photoshop work will be.

    I've learned so much lately that I'm fairly paralyzed with all the different ways to achieve the same effect. Which probably means I'm doing way too much in ACR, LAB, Photoshop adjustments layers, filters & Plug-Ins I guess that is just part of the learning process.

    I'm really proud of the details that I pulled out of this old capture;

      You learned this just from the podcast or did you ad other effects learned along the way?

      the podcasts are more about workflow not technique.

      Do you want a blow by blow on how I processed the tree? I used SkiLove73's 'bring out the details' method in the Official 'the Look' thread. For the color changes I used a combination of things I've learned about ACR and LAB over the last year. HTH

    The "process" of photo-art: How do you do it?
    by jrolinc
    As I look at results of Challenges, Artwork, etc here, and being in the learning stages myself, I can't help but to wonder.

    When faced with an Art Challenge, do you have an end product in mind, I mean, a definite result, or is it more of an idea that you work towards? Maybe I'm trying...

    Photoshop Experience
    by alceria
    I tried doing a search on this but didn't find any threads that really fit with my question.

    I was wondering how each of you learned how to use Photoshop. Was it trial-and-error, or did you pick up a book and teach yourself in a structured manner, or take a class? Or do you just pick...

    How do you learn to do "Photo-art"?
    by DannyRaphael

    In the discussion that follows I make numerous references to Photoshop. It’s not because I’m “anti-“ Photoshop Elements, Paint Shop Pro, Gimp, PhotoPaint, Photo Deluxe, PhotoDraw, Photo-Brush, Photo Impact or any non-Photoshop...

    auto-painting, plug-ins, filters
    by raven4ns
    What is the difference between these pieces of software? I am looking for autopaint software that I can manipulate a bit to have some control over. My skills are not that of a painter but an average amateur photographer yet I want to have a bit of control over the final look. Which of these do you think...
