hi all I have got an old photo of my mom, sadly she has passed away now, she is only 2years old now. It is badly scratched now is there any way to get the scratches out then I could have it blown up and put on my wall It is brown in colour but I quite like that.. Is there anyone on this site that would be wiling to do it for me if I send the photo to you cheers xx

Hi Carol, and welcome to RetouchPRO. The answer to your question is found in the FAQ which I am adding to this post.

"Is there anyone on this site that would be wiling to do it for me if I send the photo to you cheers xx"

"No. This is a site for learning, and we will gladly help you learn to do it yourself. We have a "Image Help" forum just for that purpose. Click on "Forums" on the navbar to get there. There is also a "Classifieds" forum if you're willing to pay one of our members to work on your photo."

With that said, I can't say that there is not someone that might be willing to help. However, I would suggest that you post a copy of the image.

      Carol:

Yes there is, not everyone wants to learn Photoshop etc. in order to retouch single photos. Otherwise, there would be no market for it. However, learning from the application is important as noted above. I'd hope to inspire your desire to learn simple principles that might help you with other photos. Please contact me at [email protected] or [email protected] and I will gladly help you out. Depending on the intensity of the work may require some compensation. To what extent is negotiable. Look forward to hearing from you.

Your mother passed away when she was two? When did she give birth to you?

              Old photo scans
              by Pat M
Hi everyone, I am new in this section of Photo restoration, having posted mainly in Retouching group.
Recently I asked a question on the Retouch group, but had little response so thought I would try here.
My cousin has sent me some old family photos that she scanned. The photos have a...

Please Help, I have old photo of my grandfathers’ parents and brothers. Photo in very bad condition: it has very heavy (thick) lines.

Please explain (in detail) how I can repair the photo.

If that is not possible, please direct me to a tutorial that explains the process....

I have left a message in the HPT2 forum, and have gotten no response. Is there anybody who can jump over there to help me out? I cannot get my Hidden Powertools to install. I have never had this problem before. More details on the HPT2 forum site. Richard, I see that you have been in this forum...

              Silvering on Old Photos
              by ellemir
Can anyone please help me on how remove/lessen the effects of silvering on old Photos.

I had great information on how to do it a couple of year ago, but of course can no longer find it. I have tried the tip on Silvering in this site, but it made no difference.

              I have...

Tape residue on old albumen photo
              by irsayj
Hi all. I have an old family photo (ca. 1900). It appears to be a large sepia albumen print on heavy card stock.

The photo split down the middle many decades ago, and a long-gone relative used what seems to be (are you sitting down?) black electric tape to "repair" it. ...
