Jonathan Penney, Inc. is looking for Photo Retouchers or Photo Editors for long-term freelance work, and to pick up extra work during our peak times. We are looking for several talented editors who have vision for what a photo can be—and Photoshop and other digital photo editing tool skills to take that vision to a finished image. Currently, a large percentage of our work is for portrait and wedding studios.
It is essential that you can collaborate efficiently with our customers in a one- to three-pass e-mail proof process. We usually take a first shot at their image and send it as an e-mail proof. Changes are then made to meet their expectations and the work is complete.
We are not concerned where you live and this is not a job in our print studio. International applicants are most welcome providing that you have good English writing skills. High-speed Internet service is essential.
In particular, we are looking for someone who has or can develop a very consistent black and white image style. An example of high-contrast images may be viewed at:
A softer less contrasty version is also desirable. Our customers look to us for consistent dependable editing services they can sell to their customer with confidence that we can deliver the prints to match what they sell every time.
Please do not contact us if you can’t look at an image and know which direction it may be taken. We are not concerned with your experience or the number of years you have been editing. We simply want talented editors who are dependable and can deliver beautiful work. Compensation is very dependent on the speed of your communication and editing.
