We are a major retailer hiring a photo retoucher to work on our fashion and home goods brands. Our office is located in midtown Manhattan. This position would be full-time freelance at first, but would quickly transition to a full-time permanent position.
Responsibilities:
• Retouch fashion and product photography for campaigns, in-store signage, social media, marketing, packaging, and internal communication
• Edit images for digital and print use in RGB and CMYK color spaces
• Common tasks include silhouetting; color balancing; skin, clothing, and product cleanup; compositing; extensions; color changes
• Advise Creative and Production departments on feasibility and timing of retouching projects
• Maintain monitor and printer calibration for color accuracy
• Work closely with the Photo Studio on new projects
Qualifications:
• 2-5 years experience in related work
• Recent college graduates will be considered if they have a good range of before/after samples
• Expertise in Photoshop and Mac operating systems
• Working knowledge of InDesign, Acrobat, and Illustrator
• Ability to view and differentiate the color spectrum
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task is a must
