  • Assisting well known photographers

Hi, i am finishing my 3 1/2 year internship at a studio that mostly do portraits, weddings but also some commercial Jobs. On the side i contacted a lokal model agency and did some testing with new faces. Next year when i finish my internship i planning to move to either Paris or London to work as assistant. I am willing to work for nothing and do anything from making coffee to clean for the right photographer. I well known with capture one, photoshop lightroom and know broncolor and profoto lights. This leads to my question:
How do people get assistant jobs for well known photographers like Nick knight, Sølve Sundsbo, Paolo Roversi and so on??
Do you contact their studio directly?
Some tips and insight from people who know would be greatly appreciated
    Regards Morten

You need to get yourself some experience and some connections first. As you meet more people, they can give you some leads for better work. It takes time and patience. Check this site out. I stumbled upon it a little while ago...

It's worth contacting them, their agent and producer. Also, learn about power distribution in the UK/France if you don't already know about it.

        How to get new customers?

I have clocked up a few decades of experience in the photography business and a good 15 years retouching experience. I am confident in my ability to handle most retouching tasks quickly and efficiently.

That's enough of the boasting. Now for my shortcomings. I'm relatively new to running...
