I'm "helping" someone (who is 200 miles away) do a simple web page for a school project and since I don't know win98, I'm at a loss.
When we view the site from the server, it shows up fine on his machine - win98, and IE 5.5.
There are only 2 files - silver.jpg and silver.html. When he downloads the files to his desktop and tries to view them locally from IE, he doesn't get the background.
When he looks at the files on his desktop, they have the file extensions, but when he does file>open from IE, the files show up with no extension.
I'm wondering if he has file extensions turned off or something?? How do you do that in win98? Does anyone have any idea what we're doing wrong?
He's going to be using Notepad to edit the html file since the whole design is so simple.
You can look at it here: http://csm.lfchosting.com/sean/silver.html
TIA, margaret
